problem with starting 900 1993

I had previously checked the spark by removing one of the plugs and holding it against the block while starting, at at that time it was sparking. I also had jumpered the fuel pumps and it sounded like they were running, but given the age and that they had never been replaced I bought them anyway and have replaced the main pump but not the in-tank pump yet. I also have a 1992 940 turbo with fewer miles, and I swapped the relays between it and the 1993 940 non-turbo that I'm having trouble with, but that didn't seem to fix the problem. The problem had been somewhat intermittent, but it seems like it might be becoming more persistent in that it was very very difficult to start yesterday evening after filling up at the gas station, and this morning I couldn't get it to crank at all. I'll repeat the spark and fuel pump tests. If I do replace the pump in the tank, do you know how to replace it? Thanks.
