93 940T Warm Start issue resolved 900 1993

I posted a 940T Warm start issue back in July(1993, 215k). The car would start fine cold and hot(running in past 15 minutes), but not a half-hour or hour after running. It would take 3-5 cranks to start. The car would run fine once started.

The problem turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator. I could smell fuel when I would have the no-start, and I guess it was too rich to start. The crank position sensor was also replaced(13-14 yrs old), but I'm not sure it had anything to do with it.

I'm curious why a fuel pressure regulator would cause these symptoms.

Just posting to leave a record for someone else who may run into this.

Thanks,
Tedd
