I've had it! 700

Stories like this worry me that I may, sadly see a Volvo with what looks to be usable parts left being bashed and destroyed in videos online. I think once anger is involved the situation is past the point of no return. Owning an old car is going to become a hobby doing repairs.

What I went through: Motor mounts, Trans mount, Rear calipers, CPS, Plug wires,
Intake gasket, TB gasket, Regina fuel pump, Timing belt, Used idle air control( still need a new one) Exhaust, 2 tires, Home made gearshift bushings, Neutral safety switch ( Still needs install ) Stalling/no restart due to water on the distributor, Fuel filter, Home made header pipe bracket, Repack rear wheel bearings, Ball joints, Most fluids flushed, Oil pressure switch, Carpet/seats and most seat fabric removed for cleaning...I could go on and on...About $600 in parts already at only 2 years/11000 miles of ownership. Currently trying to repair my rack lines and then I see the water pump that mysteriously stopped leaking for months is leaking again...

For perspective...That $600 is still $200 less than what my brother paid for 4 tires on his Jetta... And still $200 less than what he paid for someone to install new pads and rotors all around as well as look into the check engine light..And the car is a 2003 and still is not right...

I think you can get a cheap lease on a new car nowadays. I think if I truly hated working on cars I would probably go that route ( Drive a new car with a warranty every few years)
