My 740 GL won't start, again. 700 1990

HI,

I have a 1990 740 GL that just hit 200,000 KMs.

. It was driving fine, then one day last week it took me much longer to get it started. It cranks but would take a good 15 secs before it got going. This happen about 2 times in one day and then would not start at all unless I sprayed Rapid Fire into the intake. Once it was running, it drove as normal.

I took it to a mechanic and he changed the fuel filter and pump and even made sure it was pumping at the right pressure to get it going.

So it has been running fine for just about a week but then today, it happened again. Cranking but not starting at all. The car was never really good on gas and my fuel consumption seems to be getting worse.

Im a lady who loves my Volvo but I dont have that much know how it trying to diagnose this one. Is there anything anyone here could tell me so that I can tell my mechanic? Like I said, he already replaced my filter and fuel pump, so Im not sure whats next.

Thanks for all your advice.!
