Brake Job – A few minor questions 200 1990

My old parts are off. With luck, I’ll get my parts from FCP Groton by Friday with plans to start the install on Saturday. The front end work includes repacking the wheel bearings, replacing the lower ball joints, the dust shields, calipers, rotors and pads. My Bentley and this forum have been invaluable for help.

A few minor questions:

• I removed the races (cups) using a punch, but not a brass drift. This left a few nicks on the inside of the hub. Is it ok to just leave these as is? Or should I somehow sand them down so the surface will be smoother? For replacing the races, I rented a tool from Autozone.

• Bentley does not have torque values for the following. What torque values should be used?

o The single nut that goes on the end of the ball joint after this end goes through the strut anchor.
o The bolts that hold the 2 dust shields on.
o The 2 screws that hold the rotor on.

Thanks.
