740 shudder under braking 700

having a bit of a problem with my 740 wagon - under braking it has a noticeable shuddering grab (feels like the pads hitting a high spot on the rotor) that seems to be coming from the rear of the vehicle and it is more noticeable when the car is lightly weigheted (ie. no passengers in the back) and less noticeable in the rain - this has led me to believe that it might be a warped rotor but upon inspection both rear rotors look fine - i also took off the front wheels for a peek and have found that the front passenger rotor might have a bit of a high spot - any ideas before i go out and drop some cash on new front components??? just to add another note, front bearings and steering components checked and all appear in good shape
