New turbo wagon, idle issues 200

So... firstly, apologies to Mike in CO... I hope I didn't step on toes, I got that turbo wagon you mentioned last week... but, it'd been listed for a week before I bought it...

it's a bit of a beater, but has lots of potential... I'm rather amazed at how rusty it is, being a local car with quite low miles... More details to follow.

For now though... the idle issue. The car doesn't like to idle. It will start up (though somewhat hesitantly) and settle to a perfect 800rpm idle for about 5 seconds, then it starts to surge, and eventually die. It definitely does this warm, not so sure about cold, but I have a suspicion it will be the same...

It also cuts out periodically under full throttle at speed.. ~70mph or so, engine at about 3000rpm.. not sure if that's related...

I've only briefly looked, didn't see any obvious vacuum leaks..

Any initial thoughts?
