Oil leak from seam on block.....DIY fix? 200 1986

I was spending my Sunday finishing up the major service with a coolant flush and while waiting for the engine to warm up, I noticed puffs of smoke from the PS. I looked to find oil leaking from above the oil filter area between the 1st and 2nd sparkplugs from a seam in the block. Is this a gasket that has failed like a valve cover gasket or is it more involved? I'm pretty handy & do
most of my own work. How do I diagnois this?

Thanks.
