I thinks its the best Volvo ever made. I have 4 of them with over two million miles combined. My 1996, 960 lasted the longest at 560,000 before needing an engine. I could have rebuilt but I found a low mileage used one. I tow 4 to 5 thousand pounds once or twice a week on a round trip more than 200 miles. I have yet to ruin a transmission. I never seem to have many problems with the cars. I think it is just good maintenance. Pauli
