throttle position switch functionality 200 1993

Throttle position switch and IAC control idle speed not mixture. When throttle is closed the switch closes and tells ECU to control idle via the IAC. The switch also has a wide open throttle (WOT) contact which tells the ECU to enrich. Idle speed is also influenced by turning on AC.

Mixture is ECU controlled by changing injector pulse length based on input from MAF, O2 sensor, temperature sensor. The TPS and IAC have no influence on mixture.
