89 245 - new 5 door wiring, still no rear wiper 200

Replaced both sides wiring harnesses thru the hinges (not the best design Volvo) and all rear 5 door functions resumed, except the wiper.

Straight wired her and the wiper motor is fine. Checked my Bentley and the diagram shows only the control relay and the wiper lever/switch assys remaining in the circuit.

IPD diagram shows the probable location of the relay. What is the most likely failure point? The little switch assy for the rear wiper feels a bit odd but possibly OK (main wipers operation is AOK). Any way to check the relay? I can check for continuity with my meter, but not sure the manual shows how the thing is pinned out.

Old 245's never die....so surely someone has been thru this.
