Tire/wheel sizes used on 122's 120-130 1965

I need information who has put larger tires/rims on a 122. I picked up a set of Jeep 15x7 alloy wheels with the offset of 4.5" when using 1" spacers. Haven't mounted tires yet. I'm hoping to wrap them in 205-55 tires. Has anybody gone this large with rubber under a 122? I'm concerned about too much sprung weight and how this would affect the handling/braking. What other rims have people used on this car? I can't find old Dodge/Ford steelies in a junkyard anywhere as those cars are long gone. I want alloys on a budget, can't affor Panasports or anything like that. I'm also using fiberglass front fenders, so I can't roll them.
