Kevlar Blankets 1800

Just a heads up to anyone considering the Kevlar blankets for the firewall and tranny tunnel that some guy sells periodically on eBay. They're great.

I pulled the seats out and installed them during the summer and can attest they made a significant difference in both the heat and noise levels. Even my wife, the severest critic of riding in my 1800E, had to admit that it was no longer so "hot and noisy."

Fitting the firewall piece was not too difficult and the tranny piece was cake. Easy to hold everything in place with a few dabs of balck silicone. But don't even try it without seat removal. While I had the carpets out I stripped off all of that horrible, crumbling jute backing and replaced it with some thin foam.

Made a nice afternoon job. Good investment of $160.
