B16 engine spark plugs hotter 444-544

I was wondering what brand and model number spark plugs do you use in a B16 engine. Also, does anyone use a slightly hotter plug.
I'm presently using a NGK B6S plug and wanted a hotter plug. The local auto parts store spent about 40 minutes trying to cross/reference a champion brand, bosch etc. to the B6S NGK plug. Every plug they brought out had longer threads and would hit the top of my pistons. I wanted to use Champion plugs, but they could not find any with shorter threads and a screw off top for my wires to push on. They found a Champion model RJ8C, but the top had the metal tip that wouldn't screw off, so I would have had to buy different wires to use them and the wires are new.
Anyways, what are people using and if you do use a hotter plug then standard, what would the plug brand and model number be for a B16.
thanks
