740 gl regina one fuel pump 700 1990

How hard is it to replace a fuel pump in truck on a 740 gl rex/regina one fuel pump car? I have replaced the filter - car starts but stalls and reading all post here have identified my fuel pump as the culprit.
Thoughts on doing it myself or having it done and cost of each if any one has an idea greatly appreciated.
I have done most of the work on my blue bomber 20 years old so perhaps it must be the pump. I get spark - it runs but dies so either and air leak but I think it is starved for fuel at this point.

thanks all
