Time for a rebuild ? 700 1989

I was not very smart.

The '89 760, being driven by the daughter, blew a head gasket - badly. Locked up the motor with water in the cylinders.

Got it home, removed plugs, turned it over, water everywhere.

Then the mistake. I let it set for 3 weeks before I got to work on it. When I did get the head off 2 of the pistons were locked from rust. I soaked the cylinders overnight, and got it all loosed up the next day. Cleaned out the cylinders with a hone (small stones on spring fingers type). Put the rebuilt head back on, all assembled - new timing belt.

Hot battery, no spark. Very cold, so I get it to my local shop as I hate to deal with electrics, especially with it that cold.

Bottom line. He got the spark, but there is NO compression at all. He is going to top off the cylinders with MMO for a day or two to see if that will help.

Is it time for new rings?

Thanks for any opinion and help.
