Rear brake pad question 900 1994

Hi there,
I am changing my rear brake pads for the first time. I bought OEM pads that come with two types of shims. One is plain metal and the other shim is metal that has a rubber coating. Do I use both of them and which one of them goes against the caliper? My old pads just have one shim (a metal one).
