Thinking of buying a 240 w/80k...but it's rusty, opinions?

I know i've probably come to the wrong place for opinions :P, but i'm thinking of buying a 1987 240 with 80k on it...but it's got rusted/rotted out back rear quarter panels and the front fenders aren't doing so hot either, its also missing the grille and one of the turn signal lens...I'd also need a front bumper... the metal bar is there but no plastic. Interior seems to be in fine shape. I think I can fix her up and have a car that will run for years with a little bit of elbow grease and tlc, but I find myself in a position where I need transportation but don't have a lot of green. Should I lean towards a car that think i'm into like this? Or should I find something that's a little more together and sacrifice longevity? Let's just say i'm really interested in the 240.. in browsing I thought the parts I needed would be more readily available so I could drive it while I fixed it up... but it seems like i'm risking the underneath rusting since i'm in a snowy climate and can't garage it since I can't find the parts.

tl;dr- I need transportation. I can get a 240 with crazy low mileage that it's only problems are cosmetic, but I can't seem to find the body parts anywhere. Do I bother or do I buy a newer, yet ready to roll, higher mileage bomb? I feel like I want to roll the dice on the volvo, if only for the potential joy of longevity after I put the work into it.
