Small Clock Stopped Working 200

Hi:

I have had the Large Tach/Small Clock set up for several years now. The clock stopped recently when we had some very cold weather here in Dallas, Texas.

I have a back up clock that was broken when I bought it from a junk yard.

I replaced the capacitors (100mu 16V) and it did not come back to life.

I took the clock that was in the car out, and did the same repair, and it also did not come back to life.

I checked the fuses in the car and all of them are intact.

I also checked the voltage at the clock and I am getting 9.6V.

Does anyone out there have any ideas or suggestions?

Does anyone know if the capacitors are extremely sensitive to heat? I tried to be very careful when I soldered the new ones into place, and they did not get very warm from the soldering iron.

I made sure that the (-) lead was facing the outside of the clock and the (+) was toward the inside.

If it needs to be maintained, repaired or replaced on a 1990 240, I've probably done it. '90 240DL, 279K looking forward to 300K badge (or sticker??). >>You haven't really worked on a car until you draw blood<< :-}
