HELP!! Wife driving MY 89 245. 200

If you put the meter on the Battery lug , then it's hard to say whether teh Alternator was OK and teh terminals were dirty. Well, you cleaned it all up so after the Charge, you can check the battery at rest and then after starting to see if you are charging. Good luck.

Yes, two Bikes. Older then my '89 volvo too.

This is not to mention the Craigs List and Ebay cheapies I buy. "Not Running" Usually a good bath, coat of wax and about 1 hour pulling and cleaning the Carbs and they are back on E-bay for sale as Running. I do this with a guy here where I work. You can pick up 500-650CC's for almost no money and turn them around as Beginner Bikes for $500-$800. We literally bought a 400CC for $1.
We did this for two summers and with the money He got, he learned to ride on one of these then bought a 'nice' bike.
It's like these older Volvos... It's nice to bring Life back into something that was probably Junkyard bound.
