Starter gremlin update 700

My no start gremlin showed up again this afternoon.
Thats where there's no clicking and no starter motor spinning.
The usual scenerio is I get a big screwdriver out of the glovebox and short the starter and solenoid terminals and the car starts right up, and continues to
work for weeks and months or days, it's unpredictable.

Today instead of shorting the screwdriver to the terminals, I just wiggled the
wire to the solenoid and the car started fine with the ignition switch.

I'm convinced my gremlin is right at the solenoid terminal.
When it isn't a deep freeze in my driveway, I'll yank that starter and
checkout the solenoid wiring. Maybe there's a crappy loose rivet at the
solenoid lug or whatever.

I'll bet I'm not the only one haunted with this gremlin.

Bill
