Power steering fix 200 1981

I replaced the O-rings on my son's 81. Shop guy had 'nothing for an 81 Volvo', but the pump is a Saginaw - used on millions of GM cars. Got the kit for a 1980 Chev...perfect fit. Disassembly, kit install, and reassembly was not difficult, as I had access to a large vise and plenty of tools.

The O-ring fix is aimed only at stopping leaks. If there are unhappy noises from the pump, look into a rebuilt unit or junkyard item showing absence of leaks. I would guess that replacement of the pump bearings requires special tools and skills.
