The non-stop wiper saga continues 700 1992

Wipers won't stop

Today I had the car out again and it was milder, around freezing. Before leaving, I pulled fuse #15 (wipers, horn) but the rear wiper kept going, so I also had to pull #14 (rear wiper, radio, mirrors). This leads me to think the problem might be in the wiper switch itself. That's kind of pricey, so I'll dig into it when the warmer weather arrives. Meanwhile, I'm going to splice an external fuse and in-line switch into the #15 fuse socket so it's easier to turn on the front wipers when I need them. Right now I just stick the fuse back in, but that could be tricky at night, since the ashtray light seems to be burnt out.

Something else; the streams from the windshield washer nozzles are now very weak, not even making it halfway to the windshield. Previously I was trying all the functions and I don't believe I saw the rear washer working, but it was really cold and it may have been frozen. I forgot to stick fuse #14 in today to try it again.

To reiterate, with the fuses in and the ignition on, front and rear wipers work continuously in all switch position and the front wipers speed up in the fast position, but run continuously in the intermittent position.

Help, brickers!
