Ignition switch problem? 200 1989

Battery seems fine, 12.6v or so after being on a charger, and doesn't drop when trying to start (measured poles, clamps, jumper cables, engine, 14.1v while cables connected and donor car running).

Actually, it was loose, first thing I checked, tightened it, battery is just 3m old. Didn't help.

I'm dreading poking around under the dash, I've done enough with other cars.

I do have Bentley and Haynes manuals, and a good flashlight.
