Discount tire and alignment shop tried to rip me off 200 1989

I guess there is a reason they only charge $39.99 for an alignment. I was told I needed an inner tie rod before he could align my car. I called him on it and wanted him to show me the "play" he found in it. I was told for insurance reasons I couldn't go into the bay.
I see how they make their money, every person that goes in for an alignment is going to need a steering or suspension component.
I told him when I bought the car last fall I replaced both inner and outer tie rods, ball joints, poly swaybar links and rear control arm bushings. No comment after that. I guess I'll pay the $50 at an honest shop.
I think I hit a pothole or something because my car has been pulling to the right and my tires are wearing on the outside edges prematurely.
