Passenger's side Motor Mount 700 1988

Ok, I replaced the passengers side motor mount yesterday. It was a little more aggravating that I thought it would be and I had one complete meltdown but it's done. But anyway, the new mount looks like it was in shear. What I mean is that the motor seems to be shifted more towards the driver's side of the car. I'm wondering if the driver's side mount has a higher duro (stiffer) and is holding the engine closer on the side of the car. The engine seems to be sitting more "on top" of the driver's side mount too. Looking at the new mount I can see why the old mount failed. The position doesn't look right. Has anyone else had this problem? Or is this the way Volvo designed the mounts so the engine would drop easier? Thanks...
