Engine Rebuild. B6304. Hydralic Lifter/Tappet re-install orientation of oil hole. S90-V90 1998

Hi: Have a 1996 S90 (6 cyl). I'm rebuilding the top half of the engine after the guide bearing for the timning belt failed.

I'm re-installing the 24 hydralic lifters/tappets into the head. I did carefully mark them so each lifter when back into the same spot.

P

My question is this. Each lifter has a small oil hole in it's side. Does this oil hole need to be is a special orientation as I install the lifter into the the head?

I don't believe it does, as I think the lifter would generally rotate around as the engine is running.

Do the oil holes all need to face towards the front of the engine?, center? etc?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mr. Tool
