Rear brakes help needed!!! 200

So, i'm replacing the rear brakes and I ran into a problem. First off, everything rusty is now free! the shoe expanders are working on both sides of the car and the new shoes are in. the only problem is the new rotor on one side (i haven't tried the other side) isn't fitting in. there isn't an adjustment screw on my particular model, (as i've seen in my repair manual) so, adjusting that in isn't an option. is there some trick i'm missing to get it to fit properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
