INTERMITTENT, SEVERELY POOR IDLE/PERFORMANCE 900 1992

Greetings all. Once again, I need a bit of help.

I just completed replacing the head gasket on my '92 960 (straight six) with 196K miles. Prior to this, I had no (zero) problems with rough idle and no performance -- THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM.

However, now that the engine is back together, this problem is present.

1) Cold, the engine starts easily and runs perfectly.
2) After about 15 minutes of driving, the engine seems to be running on 3 cylinders, has no performance and barely idles.
3) After cooling off about 30 minutes, it will start and run perfectly again. 4) When the engine gets hot again, the cycle repeats.

I suspect that one of the Power Stage ignition modules is faulty.
Is there a test for this? I did not
What are your thoughts?

As always, thank you for your input.
Greg
