In tank Pump Quick question 900

Hi. Based on the FAQ's diagnostics, I think I have a bad in tank fuel pump: my main pump is making an intermittent buzzing sound, and when I pull fuse 11, nothing seems to happen. The mechanic gave an appointment for Thursday to have it checked, and while they get the parts and have it fixed, I assume it won't be ready until next week. My questions are:

1. I need to drive the car in the meantime. Does it help the main pump (which is doing all the work) to have a full fuel tank?

2. Is a full fuel tank going to be a problem when replacing the in-tank pump? Or is it designed in such a way that it won't spill fuel if replaced with a full tank?

Thanks;
JGCBAIZ.
