Reman Brake Calipers, Send'm back? 200 1992

1) IMO, rebuilding a non-ABS core as an ABS should not be an issue. They are both basically the same 4-piston caliper, with internals converted to apply fluid pressure from a single input to all 4 pistons. I'd expect to see 3 bleeders if the core was a non-ABS. But I'd guess the 2 lower ones are probably plugged, so that all 4 cylinders are bled from the highest point.

2) These cores have been getting rebuilt for several years by a variety of rebuilders, so minor differences such as dust boot attachment might be expected.
I doubt if Autozone has the quality checks in place that Volvo does, making Volvo rebuilts more expensive — the old "you get what you pay for" axiom.

3) Incomplete hardware and shoddy packaging are not the mark of a quality rebuilder, and does make one wonder about what's inside. However, I have seen the same thing and have used the part as long as nothing was missing.

4) The dimple marks are not spaced precisely. The important thing is that both halves have dimples on their bottoms. I have seen some where one half was obviously much older than the other, with its dimple barely visible from the effects of many rebuild cycles.
