Interchangeable ECU's and Cold Start Issue's

Hi All, My 85 240 Ti B21ft has a cold start problem.I have solved the high idle after warm up but still have a cold start problem. When I start in the morning she stalls at first start.Second start she will run but stumbles to almost die.I don't get a fast idle like I think it should.I have checked the timing, dwell, cleaned throttle body, cleaned air control valve, vac. leaks(none), electrical tests on all- temp. sensor,ECU,air control valve, throttle switch, cold start valve . Even though the ECU test's O.K. I have heard ECU's can test O.K. but still be bad.So I was thinking of trying a different ECU.My ECU is a 0 280 220 005.Any thoughts on this? Charlie
