Fuel delivery problem 200 1982

Finally got all the stuff back together, and even tried to edit the original post, but too much time has passed. Anyway, the original is under the same name, FWIW.

Installed new plugs this morning, set about cranking. Every now and again, I'll get a flutter on the start, but nothing solid, nothing firing enough to roar away. Can anyone give me a suggestion or two, or whatever, what should I do next, short of finding a mech?

TIA, Fletch

PS: Here's the original post:

I made a gross, gross error in judgment back in September 09. Normally, I supplement the fuel with B12, but for some really dumb reason, I picked up a small bottle of octane booster. Not reading the instructions, I know, I know, I dumped the whole bottle in the 12-gal tank when I filled up. Rode for a day or two, then the fun started.

First, felt like a kid in the back seat just kicked the hades out of my driver seat. Hm, fuel pump? Siphoned all the gas out of the tank, disconnected the pump, blew it out, nothing in the pump. Reconnected everything, put half the gas back in the tank. Fired it up. At idle runs smooth, nice. Pulled out to drive around the block, about a quarter mile down the road, was wondering if I'd be able to nuss it home. Emptied the tank, again. Refilled with new gas.

Remembered a similar problem I had with the 1800 many years ago - fuel filter. Replaced the same, fired it up, and runs bad, very bad, missing, kicking, etc. I asked a mech about it, he said the injectors could be hosed. Maybe. Ugh, don't want to go through that again.

As I had, HAD to make a road trip that day, I used my trusty, gas-guzzling pickup. But the car is still sitting, and I need to get with the program, get it roadworthy again. The mileage, or lack thereof, on the pickup is killin' me.

Can anyone give me some pointers here about what to do, what to attempt in my self-induced dilemma? I know I need to change out the plugs, but what else could you suggest? TIA - Fletch
