Performance with Weber carb 120-130

As others have already commented on the performance/mpg potential of the Weber, I'll only pass along my own electric choke Weber experience (more than a few-my own and clients). They come off choke too soon in cold climates. I add a resister in-line to the choke (one made for any '60's Chrysler ignition) to slow them in winter. In the warmer months they can be fooled into thinking the choke is necessary. Take a drive somewhere--park the car for half hour--no choke needed--but the elctric element doesn't know this--that's why production car versions of the downdraft Weber have coolant heated chokes--or a combination of electric and coolant. Some fiddling with adjustment may be needed. My own preference is for the manual choke version. My '69 144S has a very nice working set of SU's, by the way.
