Idle creep 140-160

I can easily set my idle to around 800rpm. If I turn my advance to about 10 degrees at idle, and re-adjust the idle, it will stay at 800rpm until it warms up. After that, it tends to run up to around 1500rpm or beyond, especially if I clutch out early when coming to a stop. I can force it down at stop if I leave the car in gear and let out the clutch a little bit. This is all with the vacuum retard at the distributor disconnected, by the way. If I re-connect it, that keeps the idle down to my initial setting.

Are the springs in the distributor worn? If so, where can I pick up replacements?

Thanks,

-Ben
