Where in the Okanagan are you? I live in Kelowna and I have two 122s. The membership list for the Volvo Club of BC shows about 13 Amazons in the interior and about 68 in all of BC. I know for a fact that that not all Amazon owners belong to the VCBC, and if I had to guess, I would say there are at least twice that many Amazons in BC.

As for ID’ing your B20, there are a series of numbers on the left side of the block starting just above the dipstick. The first 2 (or perhaps more) will be cast and the second 4 are stamped onto a small flat machined area, for a total of 6, which give the engine model. (There are a further series on a 2nd machined surface which is the engine serial number.) If you post those numbers, someone on this board will be able to tell you what the engine came from and what transmission came with it.

For example, the engine serial number of the B20 in my ’69 is 49 (cast) 8035 (stamped). This identifies the engine as being a B20B, having come from a left hand drive 1974 14X model with a BW35 trans, likely assembled in Canada.
