Cost? 700

If you think about it. It still would cost more per block to drill and tap each one. Penny Pinching? Maybe other markets got it sooner. I know that the 700 series in the '83-'85 years in Europe had more features and weren't smog restricted.

Stealthfi's web page mentions a BMW kit that you can install. You would still need a machine shop to drill and tap the holes correctly. Or, find a set somewhere and have the block machined to fit. The important part is the tapped hole being perpendicular to the face of the seat. The depth of the seat and the hole.

I believe a competent shop could do the work but since the engine is coming out anyway; why not find a good donor L block and refresh that one. It might be cheaper? Keeping the K block as a spare or sell??
