In tank pump/sender replacement. 200 1991

I have the aftermarket replacement from VolvoWorld, and I've got access, and I've soaked the installation with PB Blaster for 2 weeks. This weekend I'd like to get the old one out (return pipe from fuel rail has massive leak, and wires to in-tank pump and level sender broken). I have an aluminium drift and plastic hammer. Do I just whale on it till the ring rotates? Is it okay to cut the tubes with a bolt cutter to get better access? I thought about repairing the leak with JB weld and brass wire, but since I don't have power to the pump, or sender, I'm basically committed to a replacement.

Thanks
Marten
