crank but no start 200 1988

hey all...
my sweet Mary is cranking but not starting...

she has spark and "wet" plugs
i tried jumping it to rule out a bad battery.
and yes she has fuel :)

in my thread searching i have not found a solution, except for maybe a cap&rotor replacement, which i am about to do. maybe the spark she has is inadequate?

other than that i don't get it. she started up just fine 3 wks ago. the only thing i've done is replace a missing freeze plug in which i had to remove the exhaust manifold and plug wires. and replaced a cracked heater hose.

all vac hoses are in place no loose or missing connections, maybe a bad fuse somewhere? i'm not good on the electrical side of things...

where exactly is the crank position sensor? i've read that this could be the culprit, but since i have spark and fuel, i'm not so sure anymore.
###EDIT###
i just read that pre 89's dont have a cps?

any help would be appreciated
