Question on converting rear fog lights to extra brake lights 700 1991

I have a 91 745 and just chased down a bad ground in the rear brake lights. While I was in there I thought how it would be nice to convert those rear fog lights that I never use to extra brake lights. I did a quick search and found something about adding diodes and such. Anyways, I was wondering if I could simply unplug the wires to the terminal at the socket for the rear fog lights and run a jumper wire down to the terminal for the brake lights? Seems way too simple so there must be a problem with this huh?

Thanks,
Marc
