Heater Control 120-130

There are alternatives to the stock control, which is usually a lot more than $60. One alternative is to take one from a series 200 car, another is a ranco thermostatically controlled heater control valve. Napa balkamp bk660-1000, another from a 1993-95 Geo. There is a lot of info on the Ranco valve at this address if it is still valid, www.studebaker-info.org/tech/Ranco/rancotb/rancotb.html. Also check out Ranco bulletin 1531219 "repair procedure", from their web site. This valve may have been used in the Avanti. All these suggestions have been gleaned from BB articles or other sources over several years and the credit belongs to others, I just collected them. Unfortunately I didn't find any of these until after I got one of the real thing. Live and learn.
