Motor mount longevity 900 1993

Replaced the motor mounts on my 945 last Friday with new OE ones from Tasca. A bit easier than mounts on the 245, I'd say. Nice to spend more time leaning over the fender as opposed to lying on the ground, at least!

I was expecting that the old engine mounts, which had collapsed to the point of oilpan-to-crossmember pad contact, would be cheap aftermarket crap. But no, they are genuine Volvo mounts, with a 2005 production date. They are both extremely soft, and clearly stopped doing their job well a while ago. Since both mounts were equally bad, I can't blame the failure on oil change sloppiness. Is this a normal service life for the genuine mounts? 5 years and 30K miles? Yikes.
