3rd row seats-- seatbelts HELP! Mid-Project Saturday AM! 1999

Hi guys.

I picked up a 3rd row seat kit from erie vo-vo-- great condition, came in 2 days. I'm at the seatbelt stage of the install-- but I can't seem to loosen the belts from the spool. They came all wound up in a neat package, and try as I may, I cannot pull out any slack.

The mechanism looks simple enough- but gentle or rough I can't get any slack. At first I thought they were position-sensitive, so I mounted them (can't go wrong with the pin setup) but no use-- no slack.

I'm wondering if anyone out there has been in this position, or has any advice!
