Can anyone help me ID this B20 120-130

I just acquired a B20 of indeterminate origin to build up for my 63 Amazon. Seems sound but i'm gonna open it up anyway to see what's what before I try to run it. The numbers on the side are 4969 12 80860. Anyone out there have any hints as to what and when this engine did whatever it did before it came into my life. The guy I bought it from got it powering (of all things...) a "T Bucket". Mighty strange choice of an engine for a "bucket".
Also, it came with a tranny that I assume is likely an M41. It seems there are no obvious markings on this type to pin it down so my question is, just how does one tell an M40 from an M41? Any clues would be welcome.
