9007 Headlights for 9004

The 9007 have the same physical shell as the OEM 9004 although you have to swap the pins in the connector. Has anyone done this to gain the extra 10 watts of the 9007?

Between adding the relays to help prevent voltage drop and changing to the 9007's I wonder if we are close to E-code statis.. except for the yellowing lenses of course.
