Low Friction Engine 200

The very early B230F engines (F) for friction had serious problems due to a bad design on the crank thrust bearing. This flaw caused part of the thrust bearing to fall out of its slot and the crank would wobble back and forth while destroying the bottom end. Volvo replaced countless engines for this failure and redesigned the engine so that it used a single piece thrust bearing. Sorry, I can't recall what year the switch was made but if you had an early one I doubt it would still be running. After that, the B230F was bullet proof and I believe the rod bearings were upsized as well.
