Sun roof removal 740. 700

I am trying and failing to remove the sunroof from my 1988 740 wagon. All of the instructions I read talk about two clips accessed with pointed nose pliers to remove the trim. I must be blind because I can't find them. Are they under the trim at the front of the sun roof or the rear? All I can see are two springs which hold the trin under the flap. Help! Bruin.
