set idle; squeaky fan blower motor travails 200

Hi all,

This week I was sitting at a stoplight soon after starting the car, and the idle bounced around 600 RPM or so, making the car buck; I had never seen that before. It seems to work fine since, idling more like 700 RPM. Is there a correct number for the set idle? I searched here and didn't find a number.

Over the past six years, I've grown to seriously love my '88 245. I think I'll call her Trusty Blue. Brickboard's been good to me, as well. I wish I could say I give back what I take; but I'll have to content myself with my volunteer wrenching as a bike mechanic.

And for all you fellow sufferers of squeaky fan blower motors, I have lubricated mine with success once (http://www.sonic.net/~zipzippy/volvo/blower%20motor.html), and since then, without success. It even squeaks on zero (0) now, which I don't understand.
