95 960 Instrument Cluster Lights 900

Yesterday I replaced the bulb behind the external temperature LCD in the instrument cluster. Took about 2 hours to do, as I tried to get it from below first.

I am trying to figure out two things:

First, that night I noticed the instrument cluster had poor lighting, not sure why. The gas gauge was dark, and the top of the cluster was less well lit.

How many bulbs are there in the cluster, and which ones are likely the cause? Want to be sure to order the right ones.

Second, there is a lot of dust behind the cluster plastic cover. Can the plastic cover be removed?

Thoughts appreciated.
