driving on an empty/dry engine (no oil) -- thoughts? 200



I did this in the dead of winter in our 1991 740, actually. Drove probably 10 miles... before I realized that the lack of heat in the car was because there was barely any coolant.

The car had 300,000 miles on it at the time. That was a couple years ago, and the head is still alive and well... head gasket is still intact, though the water pump's top seal sorta melted.

Good ol' B230!
